Skills TuneUp: Pool Practice

Want to keep your kayaking skills sharp this winter?

Bring your kayak and brush up on your paddling skills or pick-up some new ones at the Paddlers Pool Practice. We consider this a Kayaking Skills Continuing Education Program - bring your gear and develop and practice your skills in the warm waters of the Culinary Institute Pool.

Please note, this is not an instructional program, if you would like to sign up for private instruction time during a session, please contact us at 845.229.0595 for availability and pricing.

If you are a beginner, the pool is an inviting place to practice wet exits and self rescues. Boat, body blade control is another popular skill that is developed and honed in these sessions. For the more experienced paddler, practice alternate eskimo rolls or alternative rescue techniques alone or with a partner.

This is a BYOBoat, paddle and personal floatation device event. Please call ahead for additional instructions and clothing suggestions, thanks.
