Encompassing approximately 1700 acres, the Tivoli Bays are large freshwater tidal marshes on the Hudson River surrounded by undeveloped land. This area includes the North Bay which is an extensive marsh cut by meandering tidal creeks and fringed by tidal swamps and; the South Bay, a large, shallow cove with mudflats exposed at low tide; several islands; and two tributary streams.

Launch: Follow Route 78 (Broadway) west off of Route 9G through the
town of Tivoli and across the tracks to the launch. Cross tracks at signaled
crossing, use caution. Park well away from the tracks and park clear of the
ramp area.
Weather and water conditions will dictate a mid-tour landing point.
Learning to kayak safely, effectively and efficiently is best done with the help of a qualified instructor. The lead instructors for River Connection Kayak Instructional Courses are American Canoe Association (ACA) Certified Instructors.
