This area of the Hudson River includes the Hudson River Islands State Park which includes sandy beaches, marshes, islands and peninsulas, most of which are accessible primarily by boat. South of Stuyvesant there are beaches, marshes and sandy cliffs that give this area of the Hudson significant character. South of Stuyvesant is Nutten Hook (a bedrock outcropping) and Gays Point which is part of the Hudson River Islands State Park.

This area of the Hudson is considered an important spawning and/or nursery ground for a variety of freshwater fish species.


Launch: Public launch at Stuyvesant is at the Margaret and William See Riverview Park. The park is located off Riverview Street (west off of Route 9J).

Weather and water conditions will dictate a mid-tour landing point.
