The Easy Rudder low profile design stows the blade vertically which creates much less wind resistance via the small blade area. Its strong, lightweight construction weighs less than 500g (1.1lb) and with few moving parts it keeps the unit nice and simple. The one cord retraction system gives it its name, Easy Rudder

The Navigator Rudder system is a complete departure from standard over-the-stern types where the blade pivots 270° or 180° from its vertical deployed position to a horizontal or vertical retracted position on the deck. The Navigator goes from vertical to horizontal the shortest way by pivoting only 90°. When you pull on the retracting line, the blade slides within a pivoting sleeve and comes head-first onto the stern. Both simple and efficient.

According to Venture Kayaks, they don’t want you to think about your boat. Forget about how it was ultrasound tested in eight different places to check the plastic. Don’t think about how quickly you set your backrest into the perfect position. Ignore the fact that your grabhandles have been tested to 500kg and all the fittings are marine grade stainless steel.
By the way, they really do not want you to think about the fact that the hull was designed by the guys from P&H kayaks. Sure, they may have over thirty years of experience manufacturing Britain’s premiere sea kayaks, but that’s not what you should be worrying about.
