The River Connection

The Assateague offers larger paddlers the comfort they need to spend hours in their kayak. With only a 22.5-inch beam, this boat is still very responsive, yet gives the stability for a higher center of gravity.  The large 17×32 cockpit allows for superior fit for long legs but also well-developed thighs. The longer, wider cockpit opening allows for easy entry and exit while keeping the mid-ship height down. With over 10,000 cubic inches of space, this boat is just begging to be loaded down for the longest expedition.

The shallow V hull allows for greater primary stability and the medium chine provides excellent secondary stability. The Assateague has a flatter rocker, which gives it better hull speed and tracking for touring.
