 SOLO TOURING KAYAK :: IMPEX MYSTIC


The Mystic is designed for smaller paddlers who still want big sea kayak performance.  At 14 feet long and 21.5 inches wide it is a perfectly downsized sea kayak.  The Mystic allows smaller paddlers the a boat that gives them the fit they demand and the ability to keep up with even the heartiest group of paddlers.  By keeping the rocker flat, and the beam narrow, impex kayaks has developed a short, lightweight kayak with a very efficient hull.

The shallow V hull allows for greater primary stability and the medium chine provides excellent secondary stability. The mystic has a flatter rocker, which gives it better hull speed and tracking for touring.  The rocker is enough to turn with a paddle stroke on a lazy paddle, but get this boat on edge and it has the maneuverability to explore the tightest spots in the local creek or race confidently down the biggest wave face.

 SOLO TOURING KAYAK :: IMPEX MONTAUK


The Montauk gives small to medium sized paddlers a perfect choice: unlike many other 16 footers the Montauk comes standard with two oval VCP hatches and a third round VCP day hatch. With great tracking, this fast 16 footer gives paddlers who enjoy longer trips the option of a smaller, easy to maneuver kayak.

 SOLO TOURING KAYAK :: IMPEX CURRITUCK


The Currituck is a performance kayak that is easy to paddle. With excellent cockpit design and a 21.5-inch beam, the currituck is a stable boat that is maneuverable in bigger conditions, or in tight creaks and moving water.  The 17-foot length, combined with a flatter rocker gives this kayak great hull speed for faster paddles on flat water or long crossings in open seas and variable weather.  The spacious 9870 cubic inches of storage allows for easy overnights or longer excursions.

 SOLO TOURING KAYAK :: IMPEX ASSATEAGUE


The Assateague offers larger paddlers the comfort they need to spend hours in their kayak. With only a 22.5-inch beam, this boat is still very responsive, yet gives the stability for a higher center of gravity.  The large 17x32 cockpit allows for superior fit for long legs but also well-developed thighs. The longer, wider cockpit opening allows for easy entry and exit while keeping the mid-ship height down. With over 10,000 cubic inches of space, this boat is just begging to be loaded down for the longest expedition.

 SOLO TOURING KAYAK :: IMPEX OUTER ISLAND


The much anticipated Outer Island is here. It is based on a design by Jay Babina and is a low volume kayak following the West Greenland lines.

At 18 feet, the OI is quite fast and has a very strong tracking characteristic yet it maintains maneuverability for sea touring, playing in waves and winding along rocky shores.  It is designed with performance, rolling ability, low windage and speed as the main criteria. Due to its strong secondary stability, the OI is extremely forgiving. Its low volume makes it roll very easily and it will also lay on its side with very little sculling effort. The Outer Island kayak maintains its low lines yet will comfortably handle 6 foot 3-inch paddlers with plenty of foot room and will not force you into a straight leg position.

The Force Series kayaks are quite fast and have strong tracking characteristics yet maintain maneuverability and playfulness in both calm and challenging  conditions. Their narrower beam and minimal rocker allows for longer glide times with each paddle stroke. The Susquehanna is the ultimate all-purpose touring kayak. Additional rocker gives this kayak the ability to turn it easier with less effort and edging.  This improved maneuverability in 16.5-foot kayak appeals to both the entry-level kayaker, as well as the big water paddler. The shallow V hull allows for greater primary stability and the medium chine provides excellent secondary stability. The susquehanna has good hull speed and tracking for touring.

 SOLO LIGHT TOURING KAYAK :: IMPEX IRIE


The Irie offers a class of kayak impex kayaks calls Sea-Rec With its 24-inch beam, this kayak gives paddlers of any ability a comfortable ride.  The shallow V hull and tapered bow gives the Irie the same smooth ride as more performance orientated sea kayaks.  Even with the standard rudder, for easy maneuvering, the Irie weighs in at a mere 40lbs.

 TANDEM SEA KAYAK :: IMPEX TEMISKAWA


The Temiskawa is an easier to paddle and handle double: shorter, narrower and certainly lightweight, the Mendota allows more people to enjoy the benefits of Tandem paddling on a less than expedition size trip. This tandem offers over 9000 cubic inches of storage capacity with an 86-pound weight and 19 foot 8 inch length. At only 25.5-inches wide there is an efficient water line that moves along well and keeps its hull speed even with paddlers of different strengths and during alternating paddler rests.  As in most doubles the length and width make it difficult to turn with leaning and paddle strokes therefore, the temiskawa comes standard with a foot-controlled rudder system, for easier maneuvering.
